AMEX 2025 F1 Vegas Sphere Activation

Client

American Express

Project Type

Large Scale Activation

In 2025 our team was tasked with the creation of an activation on the Las Vegas Sphere to bring the American Express Platinum brand to the largest screen in the world. With only a two week timeframe, we were challenged with creating a high-fidelity and dynamic 3D animation showcasing the new custom Platinum Mirror Livery on our F1A racecar appearing in the race.

As one of two motion designers responsible for visual direction, animation, and final rendering, I lead the team in terms of technical execution. Working with only a small team of 4 creatives total, we navigated client feedback and partnership requirements amid constant deliverable changes using nimble iterative and remote workflows. We created high-quality photoreal renders from Cinema 4D and Redshift that brought the custom livery authentically into a digital realization, showcasing its detailed reflections and elevated material design.

Once the animation was finalized, we worked with Gravity production to translate it to the 360° LED surface creating a 30-second looping experience that could be observed from any vantage point across the city. Special considerations were given to broadcast camera placements and F1 grandstands to maximize reach on a media scale.

The activation ran the entire LVGP F1 weekend, including during races and live performances by Shaggy and T-Pain, aligning with the appearance of the real F1A mirror car. It was featured prominently across F1, LVGP, AMEX, and Sphere social channels as well as being broadcasted on ESPN, extending its reach to a global audience.
